DALeast London Dare
100% secureHere’s a lovely treasure hunt for those of you out in London. DALeast has recently painted 7 murals in London, including this mysteriously located scuba diver (dare wall #4) and your job is to hunt all of them down. Simply visit his London Dare site, create an account, find and snap a pic of all 7 walls and post them on Instagram or Twitter using the #daleastlondon hashtag and the first 50 people who finish this dare will get a limited prize made by DALeast himself. Happy hunting!
Puzzle Painting Kickstarter
Here’s an awesome Kickstarter to share with you guys… The Puzzle Painting by Jeff Claassen. It’s a combination of same wood panel paintings that when assembled form one big painting, literally just like a puzzle. Since creating smaller works is much easier on the artist and collectors alike, huge paintings are hard to output and hang on walls, so with this puzzle painting concept Jeff can create a large scale piece that can be broken down into more realistic pieces and that everyone can enjoy. Take a look at his Kickstarter and pledge… you guys determine how big this painting will be!

Art Find!
Out in Melbourne, Australia you’ll find the lovely work of Katie Young who is a total art find. Her portraits are beautifully rough and sexual with passion behind each pose and paint stroke. The small faded details of her pieces, as in this painting, are a welcoming invitation to be further drawn into the piece and work your eye around it looking for more hidden gems. Check out her site and peruse her wonderful portraiture.
Thanks to a little bird out in London for turning me onto her
A Find!
Oh my goodness how I am loving this art find! The illustrations of London based illustrator and graphic designer Sandra Dieckmann are so full of love and the perfect balance of quirky kitsch and heart warming animal emotion. Looking through her work you are drawn to every line and color that forms this magical world filled with textures, patterns and animals. Check out her many pages via her site and find your favorite… of course this particular piece, so perfectly named “Squirrel Spoon” holds a place in my heart for obvious reasons.

The Magic In Book
This little stop motion animation by Reeo Zerkos is adorable as hell! Using all sorts of mediums and over 1000 surprising hand drawn images, follow the sketch page doodles and drawings as he searches for his sister… it’s a super kitschy sketchbook animation that will make your day!
Terrestrial Series Project
Mama Cash (the oldest international women’s fund) asked Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada to create an urban land art piece in Amsterdam, Netherlands for International Human Rights Day to raise awareness and defend the lives of women who are terrorized in Mexico and Central America. This beautiful portrait done by Jorge is made from fertile earth and represents all women who are under threat by trying to defend their own human rights. Check out this video of the pain staking process to create this incredible terrestrial piece.
Le Taxidermiste
I love taxidermy and this animation that I’ve stumbled upon is a true treasure. Le Taxidermiste is a beautiful piece of work of a little old woman who has lost her husband, the taxidermist, and invites the funeral home director to her creature filled home so they can all pay their last respects. It’s adorable and the animation and mounts are awesome! Take a gander!
Directed by Paulin Cointot, Dorianne Fibleuil, Antoine Robert, Maud Sertour.
